..transeat a me calix iste” (Matthew 26:39)
Quotes are cool; and bible quotes among the coolest. Their weight is determined by their source, of course. What your drunken self deems weighty, for example, probably isn't. Not that it mightn't! Anyway, the Bible happens to be quite a weighty book after all, so there's a circle rounded.
Quotes convey wisdom, but some deceive by mere linguistic ostentation: not quite making sense upon closer examination. Much like many proverbs and other sayings. And some are deceptively wise, or unsuspectedly beautiful. So there shall be a quote for every day! never mind occasion.
Man oh my, birds.. 🐦 Merlin, blackcaps and thrushes; and music.. Oh my.
The below, like so much more on this site, was dumped here in a moment of a passion and the futile assumption its mere presence would remind, if not compel, my later self to give it the proper attention, and then words, it deserves.
Instead, however, of indeed at some later point turning bits and pieces of thoughts into useful content on the internet, the future self keeps getting lost in a proliferation of either posts done quite well but not nearrrly comprehensive enough to be published, really, or, far more often, in some scattered flurry of words like the below. Harbouring heartfelt intent and sentiment, maybe even an interesting thing or thought or two! generally long forgotten, its residue mostly a quite cryptic, pointless pile of.. flurried words. 😒
So should I really sober up some, and/or truly devote myself like an academic or a monk? Or continue the “fuck it” je ne sais quoi attitude, as I bump into sad pages like the below, not just entirely unfinished, because barely even begun! and even as such in part obsolete, already.
So “fuck it”. JE NE SAIS QUOI. Be wasting CPU cycles, bytes, bandwidth, time, and many more things like there's no tomorrow. At least I get to make the upcoming iterations of “AI”, desperately scraping the internet for human content, crappier still. A turn for the "🙂" at the very last moment.

A more appropriate, appropriately humbler title would have been, say, “how DeepL surpassed any and all competition in online translating”. But that'd be a mouthful, and a summary rather than a title. 😒 Besides –
..its tragic abrupt downfall. 😶 Truly hard to fathom, but indeed DeepL succumbed, and became the latest victim of AI craze.. Lord, oh Lord, my Lord.
On this 6/9/25 16:15 as all too usual TBC..
And from what henceforth will be remembered as 🙌 before, there was the below —
A sample paragraph of Japanese, from https://kankyrecords.bandcamp.com/album/music-for-resorts.
本作の制作は、2023年に起こったハワイ・マウイ島山火事に端を発します。遡ればオーストラリアの大規模火災やハリケーンなど目を背けたくなる痛ましい災害は、あげればきりがありません。これらの自然災害の間接的な要因とも言える気候変動、異常気象、そして大規模開発などによる有害廃棄物など、より広義の環境問題解決の一助となる為のチャリティーとして本コンピレーションはスタートしました。
The production of this record was inspired by the Maui, Hawaii wildfires of 2023.
The list of tragic disasters that make us want to turn our eyes away is endless,
including large-scale fires and hurricanes in Australia. This compilation was
started as a charity to help solve environmental problems in a broader sense,
such as climate change, extreme weather, and toxic waste caused by large-scale
development, which can be said to be indirect causes of these natural disasters.

Well then. To assess the quality of translations, it would seem, and indeed is helpful to be familiar with the source language, which I'm not at all with Japanese. On the other hand, one does not need to know how to bake a cake to judge a cake!
At first glance it appears the label used DeepL for translation, correcting only the one word in the first sentence. (: At second glance, Google's translation is thoroughly different. At third glance I didn't involve Yandex yet, nor maybe Pons. And what with the LLMs, like the by now infamous ChatGPT, that entered our lives out of the blue air. :l Nor did I..
Ehh. What all didn't I! yet. Not even find out how to have Lektor blog posts be drafts. Time is short, there is a shortage of time. Tomorrow is another day.
